The Lowland Park Brand
At Lowland Park, our brand is more than an identification mark. It represents cattle that have earned their place in our breeding programme through measured performance, structural soundness, fertility and temperament.
What is freeze branding?
Freeze branding uses extremely cold branding irons, cooled with liquid nitrogen, to alter the hair follicles so the brand grows back white. Unlike fire branding, it causes minimal damage to the hide and provides a permanent, easily recognised identification mark.
The Lowland Park LL
The two capital LLs are the Lowland Park brand. They stand for Lowland, but can equally be read as Lowline or Lowland Park Lowlines.
Beneath the LL is each animal’s individual lifetime identification number, linking the animal back to its pedigree and records in the ALCA Herdbook.
What the Lowland Park brand represents
Every Lowland Park branded registered Australian Lowline carries our mark of quality. The brand is earned by meeting our expectations for growth, carcase quality, fertility, structural soundness and temperament.
It is our way of saying that an animal has been assessed against the standards of our breeding programme and has earned the right to carry the Lowland Park name.
A real example — Lowland Park Tassie T327
Tassie carries the Lowland Park LL 327 brand. As the branded hair grows back white, the mark remains clearly visible throughout his life.
The number 327 links Tassie directly to his permanent identity and pedigree in the ALCA Herdbook.
